About the Event
We are heading towards the end of Winter and will hopefully be seeing signs of new growth in nature that tell us that Spring is on its way. The days are gradually getting lighter and we may feel a little bit more energetic and ready to start being more active and we head into warmer and longer days.
In this workshop we will take a nourishingly slow movement practice, supporting our body to let go and hold positions for between 2-5 minutes. We let go of muscle contraction and target the other soft tissues of the body - tendons, ligament and fascia to soften and release deeply held tension in the body. We will end the practyice with a thoroughly relaxing Yoga nidra. Yoga nidra is also known as yogic sleep and this is where you get to completely rest, lying still and following my guiding voice into a deep state of relaxation, but still being fully aware. It is said that 20 minutes of yoga nidra is equivalent to 2 hours of deep sleep, so a great opportunity to rest and let go
This practice is open to everyone regardless of ability or experience. Props are required, but don't worry if you don't have yoga specific ones you can use pillows, cushions, books etc, which you will already have at home.
