About the Event

Winter is the most Yin aspect of the year. Like Yin it’s dark, cold and slow with an inward focus of energy.

It is believed that by hamonising oneself with the seasons you can stay healthy and prevent disease. In Chinese Medicine Winter is associated with the kidneys we will focus on poses that open up and strengthen these and will learn some tips on how to nourish and look after the kidney energy over Winter.

The practice will finish with yoga nidra, a 30 minute yoga meditation where you follow my guiding voice as you lie down and rest. It is said that 20 minutes of yoga nidra is equivalent to 2 hours of deep sleep.

This practice is open to everyone regardless of ability or experience. Props are required, but don't worry if you don't have yoga specific ones you can use pillows, cushions, books etc, all readily available at home.
